W.J. "Dub" Farris

ORR - Funeral Services for Mr. W.J. “Dub” Farris, 89, are scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, September 29,2014 at the Orr Cemetery south of Ringling with Paul Evans officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

W.J. “Dub” Farris was born February 25, 1925 to Mr. Charles G. Farris and Mrs. Willie Jewel (Cothern) Farris at Moyers, Oklahoma. He passed from this life Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

Dub was raised following work from farm to farm with his family and graduated from Orr High School in 1943. He married the former Ms. Bonnie Ruth Dewbre on January 22, 1943 at Ringling. They resided at numerous communities but always considered Ringling and Orr their home. Dub ranched and cowboyed all of his life. He enjoyed fishing , playing dominoes and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers . Dub played bass fiddle in his younger years with his brother in law and loved dancing with his wife Bonnie.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Charles and Willie Farris; Wife, Bonnie Farris - October 26, 2012; Brothers, R.D. Lemons and A.J. Lemons.

Dub is survived by his Sons, Dwain Farris and wife, Pat of Kenefic, Denny Farris and wife, Denise of Tishomingo, Doug Farris and wife, Raye of Ringling; Daughters, Debbie Davis and husband, Sammy of Tishomingo and Deanne Curry of Tishomingo; Brother, B.Don Lemons and wife, Shirley of Madill;14 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Matthew Farris, Danny Reagan, Bobby Farris, Logan Curry, Breken Eason and James Holt.

Honorary bearers are Randy Goodman, Joe Roberts, Cecil Williams, Dusty Nelson, Gary Stevens, Ty Eason and Jeremy Smith.

Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Ringling.
