Services for Wilma Faye (Howard) Callis, 88, of Ardmore, are scheduled for 2:00 Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Assembly of God Church in Lone Grove with her grandson, Alan Wolfard officiating. Interment will be on Tuesday, the following day, at 3:00 P.M. at Texline Cemetery in Texline, TX. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Wilma was born September 24, 1934, at Wichita Falls, TX to the late Mr. Elzie Alan Howard and Mrs. Alma Malynda (Coleman) Howard. She departed this life Wednesday evening, June 21, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore.

Wilma met Andy when he was a Sergeant for Military Police at the Sheppard Air force Base in Wichita Falls, TX. The couple was married on December 18, 1951. Andy went to work for the FAA as an air traffic Controller where he later retired as he felt the call to ministry. Andy, with Wilma by his side, started their ministry in Ordway, Co. They continued to pastor several churches throughout the Midwest United States and ended at Clay Center, Kansas.   Wilma taught Sunday School along with many other rolls in the churches. She loved hosting large family gathering and entertaining her friends. She enjoyed camping with her family where she made her gourmet meals over the campfire. Wilma was an excellent seamstress, making clothing for her children and also matching outfits for herself and her granddaughters. She loved to coupon, cook, and just had a love for people in general, but more than anything, she loved taking pictures and making photo albums. 

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Andrew “Andy” Callis; son, Terry Callis; grandson, Evan Callis; sisters, Mamie Saunders and Sue Stephens.

Wilma is survived by her children, Janiece Callis of Canyon, TX, Carla Wolfard and husband Edwin of Bloomfield, NM, Merle Callis and wife Robin of Lone Grove, Tim Callis and wife Mary of Richardson, TX, Scott Callis and wife Michelle of Lake Dallas, TX, Casey Callis and wife Jeni of Abilene, KS and Gabe Callis and wife Jeanne of Bloomfield, NM; siblings, Joe Howard and wife Maxine, Jerry Howard and wife Sharon, Peggy Chandler and husband Tom; grandchildren, Alan Wolfard and wife Sheila, Atlee Wolfard and wife Jaimee, Heather Callis, Nathan Callis and wife Amy, Marlena Skarke and husband Clay, Heather Skinner and husband Jonus, Pepper Van Buskirk and husband Ronnie, Levi Callis and wife Heather, Kannon Callis and fiancé Ashley Prescott, Kutter Callis, Kaleigh Brown and husband Jacob, Noah Callis, Jordan Ellis, Ashley McWilliams and husband Andy; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; numerous other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Atlee Wolfard, Nathan Callis, Levi Callis, Kannon Callis, Kutter Callis, Noah Callis, and Jordan Ellis.

Honorary bearer is Evan Callis.
