Ringling – Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilma Faye (Lester) Folsom, 83, of Oklahoma City is scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, May 25, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Ringling with Rev. Glynn Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
Wilma was born April 17, 1929 at Grady, Ok to the late Mr. William David Lester and Mrs. Edith Sophilla (Wright) Lester. She departed this life Monday, May 21, 2012 at her residence in Oklahoma City.
Wilma was raised in Ringling and Blythe, CA. She graduated high school from Blythe and soon lost her father. She and her family then moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to their family. At Ringling she began working at Moore’s Drug and there she met her soon to be husband, Mr. George Hoyt Folsom. They were united in marriage on December 18, 1948 at Henrietta, TX. To this union came three children, and they made their home in Oklahoma City.
Wilma was always a devoted homemaker, who loved playing cards, dominoes and attending family get togethers. She also enjoyed researching her family genealogy and was of the Baptist Faith.
Preceding her in death is her Parents; Husband, George - November 28, 2008; Daughter, Vicki Manuel – March 22, 2012; Brother, Dwight Wynn Lester, March of 1997 and 3 other infant siblings.
Survivors include her 2 Daughters, Wenda Owens and husband Lester of Oklahoma City and Tina Smith of Dibble; Sisters, Carol Christian of Murphy, TX, Diana Young of Princeton, and Sara Mounger of Checotah; 5 Brothers, Larry Lester of Ringling, David Lester of Plano, TX, Anthony Smith of Italy, TX, Bill Smith of Ringling, and Kenneth Smith of Grady; 7 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Chad Smith, Luke Smith, Bubba Manuel, Matt Wallace, Lane Lester, and Robert Nation.
Honorary Bearers are Lester Owens, Phil San Antonio, Larry Lester, David Lester, and Rodney Folsom.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
