Ringling - A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Wilma Jo (Gibson) Barnes are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the Ringling First Baptist Church with Dillon Payne officiating and Rev. Mike Johnston assisting. Interment will follow to Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
Wilma was born on April 24, 1937 in Tahoka, TX to the late Mr. Raymond Gibson and Mrs. Sally (Deere) Gibson. She departed from this life on Sunday, November 3, 2024 in Ardmore, OK.
Wilma started school in Electra, TX moving to Taft, CA at the age of 8 years old. She graduated from Taft Union High School and completed 2 years at Taft Junior College. Wilma worked for AAA Auto Club in San Bernadino then transferred to Palm Springs. She worked as the phone receptionist at Gene Autry's Hotel in Palm Springs and had also worked for Moore Drug, The Blossom Shop and as a home health aid until she retired. Wilma married Billy Jack Barnes on August 26, 1967 and he preceded her in death in 2005. She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and going to their sporting events. She loved her midnight runs to Little Nell's, watching soap operas and the Price is Right, loved the Lakers Basketball team especially Koby Bryant and was an Elvis Fan. She was a woman who simply loved life.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Billy "Fuzz" Barnes and her children, Donna "Sissy" Constabile, and Gary Allen; brother, Robert R. Gibson; sister, Billie Janis Duke; grandchildren, Conan Allen and Rebecca Constabile; and a son in law, Terry Walker.
Wilma is survived by her daughters, Kathy Faulkner and husband Mike of Ringling, Daphne Herrington of Ringling, Ruth Gold of Florida, and Rhonda Walker of Springer; grandchildren, Aro Allen, Michelle Faulkner, Brandon Faulkner, and Jacob Herrington; great grandchildren, Elijah Mims, Brantley Faulkner, Gabriella Mims, and Olivia Heinrich; nephew, Matt Duke and Steve Duke; countless other kids thru the years grafted into family; special pals, Smokey, Jinks, Bandit, and Blue; and by a host other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Herrington, Elijah Mims, Cody Barnes, Joby Barnes, Gatlin Wells, and Clancy Meeks. Honorary bearers will be Coby Wells, Denny Meeks, Audie Roberts, Billy Bob Barnes, Wilbie Barnes, Stanley Barnes, Braxton Wade, Ashley Wade, Ernie Marshall, Brandon Faulkner, and Mike Faulkner.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4-6 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling. Memories may be shared online at www.alexandergrayfh.com.
