Dan Stewart officiating. Interment will follow to Dixie Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Mike was born June 29, 1948, in Durant, OK to Mr. Raymon William Kirkpatrick and Mrs. Retha Fern (Stepp) Kirkpatrick. He departed from this life on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at his home in Fox with his family at his side.
Mike graduated from Fox High School in 1966 and attended college at Oklahoma State University, where he graduated with way more than just a degree. During his time in Stillwater, he made many lifelong friends. Mike married Donna Knight on October 30, 1972, and to this union, they were blessed with two amazing boys, William Brian and Jimmy Dale.
Mike followed the footsteps of his father, Raymon, as an AG teacher for 42 years. 28 of those years was at Fox, where he helped all the kids in Carter County. He retired from teaching in 2020 but never quit teaching and always showed his love for agriculture and animals. He was a man of many Riches, not of the material things in life, but the kind that consisted of great relationships and a lot of mentoring. He enjoyed watching and being with all his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Everyone knows that he loved showing pigs and going to the judging contest. His favorite swine breed of course was the Blue Cross, favorite colors were blue and gold, but anytime you mentioned blue and gold sausage, he would be frustrated. Mike loved having cattle, going fishing and golfing and of course any kind of kid.
Preceding him in death were his maternal and paternal grandparents; father, Raymon “Teach” Kirkpatrick and granddaughter, Ashlee Perry.
Mike is survived by sons, William “Willie” Kirkpatrick and wife Jackie of Thackerville and Jimmy “Hoot” Kirkpatrick and wife Jamy of Fox; mother, Fern Kirkpatrick of Fox; grandchildren, Hunter Shelby and Will, Jaycee Kay and Jensen Kate Kirkpatrick; great grandchildren, Alliee, Bexley, and Aidenn McGill; sisters Pat Whipple and husband Jim of Mustang and Carla Stewart and husband Dan of Healdton; and by a host of other family and friends.
Casket bearers will be Alan Potter, Jam Boyd, Ricky Wilkerson, Dwayne Heffington, Jackie Whittington, and Weston Ellis. Honorary bearers will be all of his former students, Michael Stuckey, Doc Tripp, Arron, Larry, and Michael Pulis, and Brent Perkins.
A visitation will be held Monday evening from 6-8 P.M., at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
The family would like to personally thank Duncan Cancer Center and Good Shepherd Hospice for all their heartfelt care they provided.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to Mike Kirkpatrick Memorial Scholarship Fund at PO BOX 33, Fox, OK 73435 or any 1NB First National Bank location.
A potluck reception will follow the service at the HatTop Ranch just North of Velma.
