William Michael Donovan

November 27, 1955 — January 5, 2012

Wilson – Memorial Services for Mr. William “Bill” Michael Donovan, 56, of Ringling is scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Chester Cooley officiating. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home and Crematory.


Bill was born November 27, 1955 at Ardmore, OK to Mr. William J. Donovan and Mrs. Phyllis (Corrigan) Donovan. He departed this life Thursday January 5, 2012 at his home in Ringling.

Bill was raised primarily in San Antonio, TX as part of a military family. After graduating High School he joined the United States Air Force and received an honorable discharge. Then he attended college for several years studying Mathematics and Business.

He and the former Ms. Carolyn Dickerson were united in marriage on June 16, 1980 at Ft. Worth, TX. They remained residents of Ft. Worth until moving to the Wilson/ Ringling area in 1994. Bill was an avid pool player and loved throwing darts. He also enjoyed raising cattle and spending time with is family and friends.


Preceding him in death is his Daughter – Jennifer, Sister – Linda, and Mother – Phyllis.


Survivors include his wife Carolyn of the home; Sons, Travis Stenseth of Ardmore, and Will Donovan, II of Ringling; Daughter, Laura Poe and husband Matt of Ringling; Father William J. Donovan of San Antonio; Mother In Law – Caryl Dickerson of Ringling; 3 Grandsons, Ryker, Ryder and Ryler; Brothers, John Donovan of San Antonio, Bobby Donovan and wife Linda of Lake Hills, TX, Jimmy Donovan and wife Melissa of San Antonio; Sisters, Sharon Inclan, Lisa Donovan and Cindy Faulkner, all of San Antonio; Sister in Law, Vicki Shastid and husband David of Wilson; Nephews, Jeremy and wife Jennifer, Michael and wife Kim and Darren Shastid. Numerous other nieces and nephews and other family.
