William Edward “Eddie” Shaw
Wilson – Funeral Services for Mr. William Edward “Eddie” Shaw, 78, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Leo Potts and Sister Diane Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson with Military Burial Honors. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Eddie was born March 31, 1932 at Simon, OK to the late Mr. Trueman William Shaw and Mrs. Josy Faye (Kemp) Shaw. He departed this life Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Ardmore Veterans Center.
Eddie was raised in Simon attending school at Simon, Post Oak and Meadow Brook. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1952 during the Korean Conflict and served honorably as a cook until he was discharged in 1954. He and the former Ms. Tressie M. Barnes were united in marriage January 2, 1973 at Gainesville, TX.
Eddie was employed most of his working years in Law Enforcement and as a Security Guard. He was employed for many years for the Wilson Police Dept. and most recently served as a Security Guard for the Chickasaw Gaming Center in Wilson. He was also employed for Carter County District III operating heavy equipment. Eddie was a proud and faithful member of the Faith Tabernacle Church of Lone Grove.
Preceding him in death are his Parents, Sister, Louise Jackson, Son, Steve Shaw, and Grandchildren, Candace Thompson, Alan Shaw, and Chasen Tucker.
Survivors include his wife Tressie of the Home, Children, Pamula Hays and husband Mark of Ardmore, Glenna Bray and Carl Ozbirn of Wynnewood, David Shaw and wife Kelly of Joaquin, TX, Brenda Roberts and husband Bobby of Wilson, George Shaw and wife Bridget of Davis, Linda Melton and husband John of Fox, Renee Miller and husband James of Healdton, and Billy Shaw and wife Sherah of Duncan. 13 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Gaither, Randy Gaither, Jerry Walker, Kenny Walker, Clay Thompson, and Steven Franklin.
Honorary Bearers will be Jeremiah Hays of the U.S. Navy, the late Alan Snow and Chasen Tucker, and Mr. Bill Barbour, and Wayne Jackson, Dean Jackson and Gary Jackson.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
