W.L. “TUFF” PARKER
Ringling - Graveside Services for Mr. Wesley Lee “Tuff” Parker, 87, of Ringling, are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Nick Ellis and Ronnie Harbour officiating. Services are under direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
Tuff was born June 20, 1921 one mile west of Center Point near, Ringling to the late Wesley Lee and Lena (Acox) Parker. He departed this life Monday, February 16, 2009 at Healdton.
Tuff was raised in this area, attending school at Cornish until the 4th Grade. He then attended Ringling and shortly after Center Point, graduating from the 8th grade there. He also attended Chilocca Indian School which was a half mile south of the Kansas border. He married the former Ms. Madoline “Salty” Johnson June 22, 1941 at Quartsite, AZ. She preceded him in death, March 8, 1975. He later married Ms Naomi Ruth Cooper, February 9, 1976 and she also preceded him in death on September 28, 2006.
Tuff was a veteran of the United States Navy serving honorably during WWII as part of the Seabees division. He worked for Petco Oil Tools for many years in which he retired from. He was a friend to many, who cherished all of friend and family. He always enjoyed visiting and spending time with his friends and family.
Also preceding him in death is his Parents, and Sister, Evelyn Bennett and Brother Billy Dale Parker, and Great Granddaughter, Brooke Nicole Shores.
Survivors include his Daughter, Lynda Tipps and husband Bill of Ringling, Son, Larry Parker of Ringling. Grandchildren, Kaye Tripp, Stacy Shores, Billy Parker, Kristy Tipps and Jodi Morgan. Numerous other great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, whom he loved very much and nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Mike Gandy, Red McCauley, Mark Shores, Chase Shores, Terry Snell, Waylon Shores, and Zane Shores.
Honorary Bearers will be Cartez Allen, Ray Hicks, Leroy Minyard, Dale Gore, Jerry Gandy, Terry Gandy, Larry Armstrong, Hubert Harris and all of the “Petco Crew”.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home in Ringling.
