Ratliff City- Funeral Services for Mrs. Vivian B. Burton, 89, of Ratliff City, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Ratliff City with Rev. Randy Sutherland officiating and Rhonda Campbell assisting with the Eulogy. Interment will follow at the Duncan Municipal Cemetery. Services are the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
Vivian was born October 7, 1922 at Healdton to the late J.B. “Luke” Dove and Mattie Belle (Pierce) Dove. She departed this life Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Duncan, Oklahoma.
Vivian was raised mainly around the Claud area attending school there and at Harrisburg. She married Delbert Dee Burton November 28, 1938 at Walters. They resided in Stephens County prior to moving to Pruitt City in 1959. She was a devoted homemaker. She liked gardening and loved to attend church and listen to Gospel music.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband Delbert of 71 years – April 19 2010; Daughter, Gerald Dean Kelley – 1961; Son Delbert Don Burton – 1967; 6 Brothers.
Survivors include Son, Connie Dale Burton and wife Sue of Countyline; Daughter, Donna Dee Ragsdale of Oklahoma City; 4 grandchildren, Jude, Kevin, Rusty, and Bobby Dale who was raised like her son; 6 great-grandchildren, Travis, Madelyn, Emily, Alec, Kara Dean, Courtney Dee; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Sydni, Cooper and Jackson; Son-in-Law, Big Bob Kelley of Velma. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers are Grandsons: Jude Burton, Kevin Ragsdale, Rusty Burton, Travis Burton, Alec Street, Bobby Dale Kelley and Special Friend Mack McClennen.
Honorary Bearers are Big Bob Kelley, Joe Armstrong, Skip Williams, Nub Sullivan, Courtney Dee Kelley, Kara Dean Williams, Madelyn Ragsdale, Emily Ragsdale, Christi Stewart.
Special Thanks to the staff of the Heartland Assisted Living and Chisolm Trail Hospice, without whom the journey would have been much harder. Much love to you.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ratliff
City.
