Virginia Ellen (Albin) Jackson

January 20, 1942 — December 31, 2022

Ringling – A homegoing celebration for Virginia Ellen (Albin) Jackson of Courtney, Oklahoma, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at the Ringling Apostolic Church with Bro. Billy Holder and Bro. Paul Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ringling.

Virginia was born on Jan. 20, 1942, in Ringling to the late Carl D. Albin and Louvenia (Cantwell) Albin. She passed away Dec. 31, 2022, surrounded by family at her home at the age of 80 years old.

Virginia was raised south of Ringling, where she graduated from high school in 1960. After a short “courtship,” she married Gene Jackson on Nov. 12, 1960, at the Gospel Tabernacle in Ringling after an evening service, and they made their home in Courtney. Virginia attended the Ringling Apostolic Church, which she and Gene helped start and were the last surviving founders.

Virginia was a homemaker and she excelled at it, preparing meals for her family, friends and farmhands for over six decades, ensuring no one ever left her home hungry. She volunteered in her community and dedicated over 20 years to working as a Jefferson County 4-H leader, helping local youth with club projects.

Preceding her in death were her parents; twin siblings, Carl Dean and Merle Dean Albin; brother, Noah Albin; sister, Mary Claxton; son-in-law, Gary Taylor; and granddaughter, Jessica Jackson.

Survivors include her loving husband, Gene, of the home; four children - Paul Jackson and wife, Kim, of Courtney; Pennye (Jackson) Taylor of Gainesville, Texas; Randall Jackson and wife, Bonnie, of Courtney; and Regina (Jackson) McClendon and husband, Rob, of Edmond; eight grandchildren – Courtney and Sarah Jackson; Garin, Whitney and Caitlyn Taylor; Braden Jackson and wife, Alyssa; Addie and Allie Jackson; one great granddaughter, Kendall Jackson; sister-in-law, JoAnne Albin of Mesquite, Texas; lifelong friends, Martha Edwards of Ringling and Jacqueline Grant of Courtney; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Garin Taylor, Braden Jackson, Dale Riley, Larry Don Blankenship, Clint Smith and Robert Simons.

Honorary pallbearers are Terry Claxton, Jeff Albin, Wayne Jackson, Jamie Miller, Sonny Mobley, Ronnie Austin, Larry Blankenship, Dewayne McCarty, Stanley Austin, Kevin Grant, Kerry Blankenship and Dustin Weatherly.
