Services for Virgile Dewey Warrington, 79, of Healdton, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the Healdton First Baptist Church with Pastor Kent Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton.
Virgile was born October 6, 1943, at Seminole, OK to the late Mr. Jacob Wesley Warrington and Mrs. Wilma Vermell (Gravett) Warrington. He departed from this life Friday, June 9, 2023, at Mercy of Healdton Hospital.
Virgile was raised at Wirt attending school at Dundee where he graduated with the High School Class of 1962. He then went to work for B.J. Hughes, where he worked as a truck driver. Virgile married the former Ms. Margaret Joy Roberts and to this union he was blessed with four daughters and one son. He later was employed by Mobil Pipeline Company as a Gauger. Virgile retired from Mobil at the age of 59. Later in life he married the former Ms. Sharon Kay Pemberton, September 6, 1990, at Ardmore and gained another son and daughter. Virgile also helped in the family restaurant, the Grasshopper, in Healdton for many years. He was a collector of many things, loved hunting, metal detecting, and Hot Rods. Virgile loved watching his favorite OU games, his hometown Healdton Bulldogs, and most of all his grandkids playing whatever sporting event they participated in. He was a hard-working honest man who never met a stranger. Most of all, Virgile loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and he loved teaching them all of his trades.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Melvin, Carl, Gene, Robert, and an infant brother; sister, Violet Webber and granddaughter, Tiffany Joy Mashore.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Warrington of the home; children, Dawna Dickson and husband Don of Ardmore, Kelley Wimmer and husband Stan of Edmond, Sara Barnes and husband Billy Bob of Lebanon, Wes Warrington and wife Julie of Healdton, Amy Jackson of Ardmore, Chris Chamberlain of Sulphur, and Heather Tingler and husband Jeremy of Bentonville, AR; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Wes Warrington, Justin Wilsie, Kegan Warrington, Kaden Tingler, Karson Warrington, and Konner Engle.
Honorary bearers are Glen Brown, Glen Bowen, James Burris, his coffee shop buddies, and Mobil co-workers.
Family Visitation will be held from 6-8P.M., Monday evening at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton.
