Vira Lee Calvery

Ardmore –Graveside Services for Mrs. Vira Lee (Good) Calvery, 83, is scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, March 25, 2011 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore with Pastor Jane Butler officiating. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Vira was born February 23, 1928 at Lone Grove to the late Mr. Royal Thomas Good and Mrs. Sadie Sarah Jane (Stewart) Good. She departed this life March 22, 2011 at a Nursing Home at Ardmore.

Vira was raised mainly in western Oklahoma at Hobart and Roosevelt. She married the late Mr. Willard Calvery on September 23, 1946 at Vernon, TX. They moved all over Oklahoma and Texas following the Oilfields residing the majority of their working years at Wilson, Ratliff City and Fox.

Vira was a very devoted homemaker and had also been employed at the Pauls Valley State School as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for eight years. Her husband Willard, preceded her in death on April 25, 1982. Vira was a member of the First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, also preceding her in death is her Son, Troy Don Calvery, Sisters, Jean Suttle, Lois Johnson, and Wanona Bingham, 1 brother, James Good, and 1 infant Daughter, Christeen.

Survivors include her Daughter, Linda Holt of Ardmore; 5 Grandchildren, Stephanie, Toni Gail, Steven, Terri Lynn and Ray; 6 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; Sister in law, Mildred Walker of Healdton and Special Niece Alice Hartman of Ardmore, numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Hartman, Jr., Paula Trusty, Rachael Harris, Foster Trusty, Hunter Trusty, and Kevin Trusty.

Honorary Bearers will be Alice Hartman, Billy Risenhoover, Hester Thompson, and Ray Current.

Family visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
