Wilson – Funeral services for Mrs. Veneta Mary (Schoenhofer) Lowe, 82, formerly of St. Paul, KS will be at 10 am, Thursday, March11, 2010 at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul, KS with Father Theodore Khin conducting the ceremony. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson, OK.
Veneta Mary Lowe was born August 20, 1927 in St. Paul, KS to the late Mr. John Michael Schoenhofer and Mrs. Catherine Marie (Thomas) Schoenhofer. She entered eternal life on Monday, March 8, 2010 after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s.
Veneta was born and raised in St. Paul, KS attending and graduating school there in 1944. She was a hard worker and loved people. She taught school in Oswego, KS in the 1940’s and also worked at the Erie Creamery, The Chanute Tribune, Star Drill, Chanute Country Club and retired from H.K. Porter after 20 plus years.
Preceding her in death are her parents, 5 sisters, Irene Smith, Rita Lockwood, Kathleen MeGowan, Madonna Amos and Rose Agnes Schoenhofer.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Carla Brewer and husband Gary of Wilson, Kay Lowe of Olathe, KS and Karen Sullivan and husband Bob of Cape Fair, MO. 4 brothers Jerry Schoenhofer and wife Anne, Robert Schoenhofer and wife Virginia both of St. Paul, KS, Kenneth Schoenhofer and wife Sandy of Erie, KS and Verl Schoenhofer and wife Judy of Chanute, KS. 5 sisters Eileen Barnes of Kansas City, MO, Ruthie Wehlage of Erie, KS, Norma Carson and husband Bill of Oswego, KS, Mary Jo Mahler and husband Gene of Erie, KS and Berniece King and husband Earl of Wichita, KS. 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Woodard, Adam Brewer, Zachary Brewer, Caleb Brewer, Austin Woodard and Billy Carson.
Honorary Bearers will be Callie Brewer and Shannon Brewer.
A Rosary service is scheduled for6:30 pm Wednesday evening March 10, 2010 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute, KS with Father Bernard Gorges conducting the ceremony.
In Lieu of Flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Cross Timbers Hospice 207 C St. NW Ardmore, OK 73401 or St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 424 South Central Ave. Chanute, KS 66720.A book of memories has been established at www.alexanderfuneralhome.org for condolences and remembrances.
