Tura Abbott Fulton

Wilson - Graveside Services for Mrs. Tura (Abbott) Fulton, 75 of Marietta, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. , April 24, 2020 at Hewitt Cemetery with Chaplain Matt Benedick officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Tura was born June 23, 1944 in Chicago, IL to the late Mr. William Carlton Abbott and Mrs. Shiela (Henrickson) Abbott. She departed peacefully from this life at her home on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

While Tura was in high school in Dallas, she played the oboe and violin in the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. She attended college at Woman's Texas University earning her degree in Music Education. Tura taught music and gifted and talented for many years at Wilson Public Schools. After retirement, she worked at WinStar in Thackerville for several years as a cashier. Tura loved to garden and grow the most beautiful flowers. She definitely had a green thumb. She loved her animals and her favorite hobbies were thrift shopping and buying gifts for her family and others. Tura was of the Christian faith and said her prayers faithfully.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband, Quentin Mike Fulton; granddaughter, Callie Fulton; and life long best friend, Paula Aycox.

Tura is survived by her sons, Paul "Carlen" Fulton and wife Sheila of Wilson and Royce Dean Fulton; grandsons, Paul "Caleb" Fulton and wife Kimberly of Yukon, William "Carson" Fulton, Caylen Isaiah Fulton, Cason Elijah Fulton and Carter Uriah Fulton all of Wilson; great grandsons, C.J. and Hudson Fulton; special friends, Leona Stevens and Janie Reyes; care takers, Bonnie Davis and Becca Thompson; and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Caleb Fulton, Carson Fulton, Caylen Fulton, Cason Fulton and Carter Fulton and adopted family member Chris Hacker. Honorary bearers will be William Kinard, Randy Chapman, Greg Whatley and Greg Farrell.
