Countyline- Funeral Services for Mr. Troy “Sonny” Talton Elledge, 71, of Velma are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 28, 2009 at the Countyline First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Choate and son, Rev. Chris Elledge officiating. Burial will follow at Claud Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City.
Sonny was born July 2, 1938 at Ardmore to the late Mr. Troy B. Elledge and Mrs. Annie Irene (McClure) Elledge. He departed this life Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at his home in Velma.
Sonny was raised in the area attending school at Claud and Alma and later graduated from High School at Tipton. He married the former Shirley Meeks and to this union came five children, Chris, Mark, Belinda, Lori and Kim. Sonny was a very talented musician. He worked as a musician playing country music and recorded two records as the name Troy Talton. He also worked as a carpenter for many years. Due to his failing health he moved to Velma to be closer to his family. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Preceding him in death is his Parents, Infant Daughter, and a special friend, Virgie Walls.
Survivors include his 2 Sons, Rev. Chris Elledge and wife Christina of Vienna, Austria, and Mark Elledge of Scottsdale, AZ. 3 Daughters, Belinda Godin and husband Mike of Wadsworth, OH, Lori Kenney and husband Paul of Mebane, North Carolina, and Kim Cary and husband Dean of Fair Grove, Missouri. Sister Peggy Nye of Velma. 10 Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Andy McGuire, Alan McGuire, Strawberry Jett, Jason Young, Floyd Davis, and Troy Stinson.
Family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday Afternoon at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
