Tressie May Shaw

Wilson- Funeral Services for Mrs. Tressie May (Barnes) Shaw, 71, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Leo Potts officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Tressie born Dec. 10, 1942 at Wynnewood to the late Mr. William Thomas “Tom” Barnes and Mrs. Carrie Opal (Smith) Barnes. She departed this life Thursday, January 16, 2014 at her home in Wilson.

Tressie was raised at Wynnewood attending school there and at Roady. She married Mr. Jerry Dugan Croan on July 3, 1958 at Lawton. To this union they were blessed with four daughters, Glenna, Brenda, Linda and Renee. They made their home Pauls Valley. Jerry tragically preceded her in death on September 10, 1972. Tressie moved her family to Countyline and there she soon met Mr. William “Eddie” Shaw. She and Eddie were united in marriage on January 2, 1973 at Gainesville, TX. To this union came a son William “Billy” Shaw, Jr. and stepchildren, Steve, Pam, David and George. They lived the majority of their lives together residing at Wilson. Tressie was always a devout homemaker and worked outside her home at Bill & Barbs Restaurant of Ardmore as a waitress and at the Wilson Nursing Center as a Med Aid. She enjoyed quilting, shopping with her sisters, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended the Faith Heritage Pentecostal Church of Lone Grove.

Preceding her in death were her Parents; Husband Jerry Dugan Croan; Son, Steve Shaw; Husband Eddie Shaw, January 8, 2011; 3 Grandchildren, Candice Thompson, Alan Shaw and Chasen Tucker; 3 Infant Siblings; and other Siblings, Maxine Dean, Tommy Barnes and Bill Barnes.

Survivors include her beloved children, Pamula Hays and husband Mark of Ardmore, Glenna Bray of Davis, David Shaw and wife Kelly of Joaquin, TX, Brenda Higgins of Wilson, George Shaw and wife Bridget of Davis, Linda Melton and husband John of Fox, Renee Miller and husband James of Healdton and Billy Shaw of Wilson; Brother, Mike Barnes and wife Laveta of Wynnewood; Sisters, Mary Horton and husband Chester of Ratliff City and twin sister Bessie Wells and husband Richard of Oklahoma City; 13 Grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and two others on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews and other family.

Casket Bearers are Jerry Walker, Kenny Walker, Rodney Gaither, Randy Gaither, Clay Thompson and Kenneth Scott.

Honorary Bearers are Dustin Edwards and Jeremiah Hays.
