Wilson - Funeral Services for Mrs. Thressa John (Gilliam) Bulla, 69, of Wilson is scheduled for 11 am Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the Assembly of God Church in Wilson with Rodney George and Virgil Ridenhour officiating. Burial will follow at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. ServiceS are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
Mrs. Thressa John (Gilliam) Bulla was born on December 29, 1938, in Graham to the late John and Ora (Jackson) Gilliam. She departed this life Tuesday Sept. 9, 2008, at her residence in Wilson
Thressa was raised in this area attending school at Graham and Wilson. She and the late Mr. Dale Ray Bulla were married March 11, 1955 in Ardmore, Okla. They resided at various communities following work in the oil patch. Some of her most enjoyable employments included being a telephone operator, and manager of several restaurants one of which was the, “The Dillard Store” in Dillard and working with Gayle Phillips at the country club in Ardmore. Thressa and Dale returned to Wilson in 1994 to retire where they enjoyed their family and grandchildren. Thressa also very much enjoyed playing Games and often dining with her girlfriends. Thressa was always a very devout homemaker, loving mother and grandmother and cherished times spent with her family. She was also a very devout Christian, a lady of faith and was a member of the Church of God Fellowship in Ringling.
Preceding Thressa in death is her parents, John and Ora Gilliam, her loving husband Dale Ray Bulla, June 24, 2008, son, Ray Alan Bulla, May 22, 2005, 6 sisters, Ruby Lee Lampkins, Norma “Poola” Lou Borne, Imogene Jones, Jean Baker, Jo Ann Holder and Sandra Ramey.
Survivors include her daughter, Grynna and husband Jack Dewbre of Moore, sons Randall Bulla and wife LaVeeda of Wilson, and Mickey Bulla also of Wilson, sister Neva King of Noble, Illinois, grandchildren Daniel Bulla and wife Stephanie of Washington, Chad Dewbre and wife Jacquelin of Waco, TX., Jill Hunt and husband Billy of Wilson, Brandon Bulla and wife Sunny of Wilson, Dustin Bulla and wife Christy of Wilson, Brandi Earhart and husband Ray of Ardmore, Amanda Hulsey and husband Heath of Wilson, and Lacey Scott and husband Gary of Salt Lake City, Utah. 12 Great Grandchildren, Tyler Bulla, Lexi and Brady Hunt, Eric, Seth, and Ryan Hulsey, Jacey and Callie Dewbre, Trevor Earhart, Alyssa , Rebecca and Taylor Scott. Numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Bulla, Chad Dewbre, Billy Hunt, Brandon Bulla, Dustin Bulla and Heath Husley.
Honorary Bearers will be nephews.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice of Wilson for their kind felt care and support.
Family visitation will be Friday evening from 7-8pm at the Funeral Home in Wilson
