Lone Grove – Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas “Tom” Eugene Walker, 68, of Lone Grove is scheduled for 2:00PM, Monday Dec. 5, 2016 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Simon Cemetery south of Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Tom Walker was born April 8, 1948 at Wilson, OK to the late Mr. Virgele Augustus “Buzz” Walker and Mrs. Joanna (Hodges) Walker. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at his home in Lone Grove.

Tom was raised in Wilson, graduating from Wilson High School in 1966. He married the former Ms. Janis Craighead on June 30, 1967 at the Lake Murray Chapel. Tom worked in the oilfield all his working years as a supervisor for Schlumberger. He also worked several part time jobs for Ardmore Truck Driving School, Census Taker and Loves. They spent many years in Rock springs, WY and mainly resided locally in the Lone Grove area. Tom was a great father, loving husband, avid hunter, fisherman, and adored his three grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is his father; sister, Anna Marie and brother, George Walker.

Survivors include his wife Janis of the home; three children, LeAnna Nelson and husband Donnie of Baggs, WY, Holly Walker of Lone Grove, OK, and Russell Walker and wife Millie also of Lone Grove, OK; mother, JoAnna Walker of Wilson, OK; sisters, Floy Bates, JoAnne “Annie” Miller, all of Wilson, and Janie Peale and husband Rick of Fox, OK; grandchildren, Brandy, Austin and Tommy; sister in laws, Jennifer Read and Joyce Pierson of Lone Grove, OK; numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers will be Robbie Wilson, Jeff Wilson, Eric Cox, James Read, Shannon Wilson, and Russell Walker.

Honorary Bearers are Tommy Walker, Brandy Walker, Austin Walker, and Donnie Nelson.

Family visitation will be from 2-4pm Sunday afternoon at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson, OK
