Terry Joe “Tojo” Tanner

Lone Grove – Graveside Funeral services for Mr. Terry Joe “Tojo” Tanner, 55, will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Lone Grove Cemetery with Rev. Leo Potts officiating. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Terry was born April 10, 1955 in Wilson to the late Mr. Lyle Harrison Tanner and Mrs. Iris Eulene (Clements) Tanner. He departed this life Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in Ardmore.

Terry was raised in Lone Grove, attending school there. He was employed by the city of Lone Grove for 20 years in the street and water departments. He was an avid musician. He loved playing his guitar and making music with all of his friends. He will be dearly missed by all of his musician friends, former co-workers and all of his friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Lyle and Iris Tanner and a brother, Franklin Tanner.

Survivors include his brother, Harry Tanner of lone Grove, companion, Lana Adams of Lone Grove, 3 daughters, Christa Jackson and husband John of Ardmore, Misty Hodges of Lone Grove and Hali McMillen of Coyle and 3 grandchildren. Numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Keith Raney, Robbie Armstrong, Joe Bob Bennett, Dean Sullivan, Mike Pruitt and Terry Thompson.

Honorary bearers will be Butch Adams, Steve Taylor, Rick Lewis, Keith Adams, Jerry Denham, Ritchie Davis, Bill Grover and Teddy Phillips.
