Terry Dale Morris

Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Terry Dale Morris, 68, of Ringling are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Gospel Tabernacle of Ringling with Pastor Ronnie Carroll and Bro. Jimmy Morris officiating. Interment will follow at the Grady Cemetery south of Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Terry Dale was born May 25, 1947 at Cornish to the late Mr. Dana Joe Morris and Mrs. Elizabeth Louise (Stewart) Morris. He departed this life Wed. March 9, 2016 at Ardmore.

Terry Dale was raised in Ringling with his two sisters, Jana and Barbara. He attended school at Ringling and soon after joined the Army National Guard. There he served honorably before actively enlisting into the United States Navy. He served for 4 years during the Vietnam War as a typist and supply clerk. He received a honorable discharge and returned to Ringling in 1970. He and the former Shelia Prescott were united in marriage on August 6, 1976 at Healdton.

Terry Dale worked most all of his working years as a HVAC repairman, but volunteered and helped the community of Ringling in many capacities. He served as a volunteer fireman for the Ringling Fire Dept. for 20 or more years, holding the position as Fire Chief for 11 years. He was a dedicated first responder for this area for many years and was also the past president of the American Legion Post. Terry Dale most recently was employed for Red River Transportation Senior Citizens services and delivered meals on wheels throughout the community of Ringling. He had several hobbies including riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, collecting trains and making many knives. Terry Dale also enjoyed having his store in Ringling where he cracked and purchased pecans and visited with his many friends.

Preceding him in death were his Parents; and two sisters, Jana and Barbara.

Survivors include his wife Shelia of the home; children, Terry "Scooter" Morris Jr. and wife Annette of McAlester, Kelly Rawson of Ardmore, Billy James "Jamey" Morris and wife Christy of Sherman, TX, Melanie Gargis and husband Marc of Weatherford, TX, John Michael Morris and wife Sheri of Ringling and Jessica Higgins and husband Cody of Ringling; 27 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

Casket Bearers will be Justin Berry, Andrew Berry , Jeremy Morris, Dawson Morris - Wright, Lance Roberts and Gabriel Morris.

Honorary Bearers will be Zachary Rawson, Dalton Rawson, Odell Carroll and all of the Ringling VFD past and present.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Ringling.
