Services for Terri Ann (Ham) Ellis, 72, of Wilson, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Bro. Gene Cormier officiating. Interment will follow at the Dixie Cemetery in Stephens County.
Terri was born on September 26, 1952, at Healdton, Ok to the late Mr. Leon Russell Ham and Mrs. Mary Odell (Fortune) Ham. She departed this life February 10, 2025, at her home in Wilson.
Growing up in Healdton, Terri attended the local school and proudly graduated with the class of 1970. She continued her academic pursuits at East Central University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in special education in 1974. This foundation paved the way for a career marked by significant contributions to the educational sector. Terri dedicated many years to local schools in Moore, Oklahoma, working within the administration department. Her professionalism and leadership were further demonstrated through various management roles, most notably at TeachWare, where she excelled as a manager in selling educational software. On August 31, 1996, Terri married Mr. Claud Green in a heartfelt ceremony in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Their partnership of 25 years was filled with love and mutual respect, and it was a period that defined much of her adult life. Claud, a beloved companion, passed away on April 28, 2021, leaving a profound impact on Terri's heart. In her pursuit of making a difference, Terri was an active member of the Education Support Personnel of Oklahoma, where she took on the role of delegate at their national meeting in Washington, DC. Her commitment to education continued when she resided in Ardmore and worked at Ardmore Schools in the special education department, ultimately retiring in 2022. In a testament to her enduring spirit, Terri found love again and married Nick Ellis on January 27, 2023, in Ardmore. Together, they made their home in Wilson, creating new memories and sharing joys. Terri was known for her passions outside of work as well. A devoted fan of the University of Oklahoma, she passionately followed football, softball, and basketball. Her love for animals was evident in her actions, as she committed herself to rescuing dogs in need, embodying the kindness and compassion she was known for. Terri Ann (Ham) Ellis will be remembered for her contributions to education, her love for her family and friends, and her unwavering spirit. Her legacy of service and love for both people and animals will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Preceded her in death are her parents Leon and Mary Ham; husband, Claud Raymond Green.
Survivors include her husband, Charles “Nick” Nickey Ellis of the home; daughter, Julie Ann Shilling of Norman; brother, Dennis Craig Ham of Pauls Valley; stepchildren, Amber Barber and husband Brad, Chris Green and wife Anne, Wayne Ellis, Alan Ellis and wife Tara; numerous grandchildren, other family, and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Alan Ellis, Don Johns, Kevin Conyers, Jack Blount, Betty Stanton, and C.W. Harper.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 PM, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson.
