Ringling - Funeral Services for Mrs. Teressa Darlene (McLain) Provence, 85 of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Ringling Church of Christ with Ty Kerley officiating. Interment will follow to Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Teressa Provence, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2024 in Ringling, OK. The youngest of six, she was born to Wirt and Nevie McLain on November 19, 1939 at Mountain Home, OK. Teressa's life was characterized by her deep love for her family and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.
Teressa attended school in Mountain Home and graduated from Ringling High School, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Roy Provence. Their 67-year marriage was a testament to their enduring love and commitment. Teressa grew up with very little but always spoke to her childhood with immense happiness and joy.
In her professional life, Teressa excelled as a supervisor for Hagger Slacks in Temple, OK and later when the family moved to Eufaula, OK, she quickly worked her way up from social coordinator to director of Friendly Manor Nursing Home. After relocating to Sulphur, OK in 1980, she pursued a degree in psychology while working as a receptionist for the Department of Human Services. Once again working her way up the ranks to become a supervisor in the state organization in order to positively impact the lives of many.
Despite her successful career, Teressa's greatest joy came from her role as a mother and "Mammaw." Her family was her world. All her grandchildren and great grandchildren believed they were her favorite. Her greatest gift was love, and all her love was centered and anchored in her devoted service to the Lord, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Provence, her daughters, Parilyn Provence Hairod and son in law Kent, and Kelli Provence Dudley and son in law Steve, as well as her grandchildren, Zachary Hairod and wife Ashley, Ashley Krutzler and husband Adam, Dakota Dudley and wife Rachel, and Ty Dudley and wife Cassidy. Her great grandchildren, Madison and Conner Hairod, McLain and Faye Dudley, and Savannah Krutzler, brought her immense happiness and pride. In addition, she is survived by her sister, Mary Tipps and sister-in-law Mildred Reinhardt. Teressa had many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, four out of her five older siblings (Ola Taylor, Ira McLain, Audrey Hammons, Ethel Legan) and an infant granddaughter, Gabrielle Dudley.
Teressa will be remembered for her tiny stature but powerful presence, her love for her family, and her dedication to her faith. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Zach Hairod, Dakota Dudley, Ty Dudley, Donnie Davis, Conner Hairod, and Addy Staggs. Honorary bearers will be Brian McGahey, Randy Weaver, Kevin Edwards, and Gregg Smith.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling. Memories may be shared online at www.alexandergrayfh.com.
