Susan Gail Straughn

Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Susan Gail (Duchesney) Straughn, 67, of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday January 6, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Brother in law Glenn Straughn officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery of Wilson.

Susan was born March 28, 1946 at Jacksonville, FL to the late Mr. Clement Duchesney, II and Mrs Dorothy Irene (Burns) Duchesney. She departed this life Thursday morning January 2, 2014 at Oklahoma City.

Susan was raised at Charlotte, NC. She attended 2 years at East Carolina University prior to Lance sweeping her away on March 19, 1966. Then they moved to Albuquerque, NM and several other places before coming back to this area in 1985. Susan finished her degree in Business and Accounting at Southeastern Oklahoma State University of Durant.

She was always a very passionate and adventurous person that enjoyed travelling extensively. She developed a love for Southwest Art and Island Culture. She invested her passion in helping others later in life as an administrator for assisted living centers and was always a very devoted Wife and Mother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilson.

Preceding her in death are her Parents, Mr. Clement and Dorothy Duchesney, and a brother Clement Edward Duchesney.

Survivors include her husband Lance of the home; Son Lance Edward Straughn and wife Favour of Oklahoma City; Sister Lynne Marie Conder and husband Mike of Charlotte, NC. Numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Rusty Fielding, Larry Seeley, Kevin Bone, Edward Conder, Kurt Straughn and Greg Straughn.

Honorary Bearers are Lou Kent and Jake Fielding.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 6 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home in Wilson
