Stanley R. Thomas, Sr.

Ringling - Graveside Services with Military Honors for Mr. Stanley R. Thomas, Sr., 78 of Ringling is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 15, 2022 at the Petersburg Cemetery with Sister Ellen Abshire officiating and Rev. Glynn Baker assisting.  Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.  

Stanley was born November 15, 1943 in Milsap, TX to the late Mr. Luther E. Thomas, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Opal (Garrett) Thomas.  He departed from this life on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at his home in Ringling. 

Stanley was raised in Milsap, TX attending school there till he was 13.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1964 serving honorably until 1970.  Stanley has lived in the Duncan area most of his life moving to Ringling the last 5 years.  He worked for Halliburton for 15 years as a truckdriver and then for Beaver Express Freight where he eventually retired.  He enjoyed hunting in his earlier years in Arkansas as well as fishing.  But his biggest joys were being around his family, having family dinners and going to the Ringling football games.  Stanley was a member of the Church of God Fellowship Church in Ringling. 

Preceding him in death were his parents; siblings, Marybeth Scott, Thelma Todhunter, Larry Thomas, Oran Thomas, Finnie Thomas, and Luther Thomas, Jr.

Stanley is survived by his children, Stanley Ray Thomas, Jr. and wife Erin and Amanda Kay Ridenour and husband Randy; siblings, Linda Wharton, Mildred Harris, Nelda Jean Cavin and Gary Lynn Thomas; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 19 nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; and by a host of other family and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Cooper Thomas, Russell McKee, Garin King, Cecil Britt, Dakota Ridenour, and Dorian Pitt.  Honorary bearers will be Jim Williams, David Barber, Tammy Roberts, Larry Morris, Brad Harris and Charlie Birchfield. 

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

The family would like to Thank Cross Timbers Hospice and Complete Home Health, and Tammy Roberts for their thoughtfulness and dedication to Stanley.
