Shirley Lafern Grape

Wilson-Graveside Services for Shirley Grape, 73, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday Aug. 23, 2014 at the Banner Cemetery in Kingfisher,OK.

Shirley Lafern (Hicks) Grape was born May 20, 1941 at Crescent Oklahoma to Mr. Otto Hicks and Mrs. Meta (Dull) Hicks. She passed from this life Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Healdton.

Shirley was raised in the Crescent and Dover area. She married Mr. Paul Charles Grape November 24, 1963 at Kingfisher. They remained in Kingfisher all of their lives together. Paul Preceded her in death on December 6, 1998.

Shirley worked as a babysitter and worked in the kitchen at the Shamrock Nursing Home in Kingfisher. She moved to Healdton about 5 years ago to be near family. Shirley enjoyed watching wrestling and was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church of Kingfisher.

In addition to her husband, Paul she was preceded in death by her Parents, Otto and Meta Hicks; Brothers, Dale McGee and Ronnie Hicks; Stepfather, Rufus Max Peterson.

Shirley is survived by her Son, Troy Grape and Missy Varner-Houck of Healdton; Daughter, Paula Grape of Healdton; Sister, Barbara Schultz and husband, Bill of Arizona; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; Numerous other Family and Friends.

Visitation will be from 6-7 PM Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
