Mrs. Shirley (Keef) McDaniels of Lone Grove departed this life on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in Ardmore at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 12 days. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M.Thursday, June 10, 2021 at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Lone Grove with Rev. David Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at the Newport Cemetery in Lone Grove. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Shirley was born on June 24, 1935 in Amber, OK to the late Mr. James Curtis Keef and Mrs. Willie Elanor (Whitehead) Keef. She was raised in Amber and attended school there until she married her high school
sweetheart, Mr. Floyd McDaniels on December 24, 1951 at Chickasha.
She and Floyd had made their home in the Ardmore area since 1953 and raised their four children there. She was an excellent homemaker and wife. She enjoyed baking and was known for her fried pies. She was always happy to be cooking a big dinner and feeding her children and grandchildren. Shirley had many talents such as sewing, crocheting, singing and playing the piano. In earlier years she enjoyed horseback riding and judging poultry and rabbits at the Carter County Fair. She attended the New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Lone Grove.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd McDaniels, son, Mike McDaniels; sister, Elsie Estes; and a brother, Wayne Keef.
She survived by her daughters, Nancy Dobbins of Ardmore; Ronda McDaniels of Lone Grove; son, Kelly McDaniels of Lone Grove; daughter in law, Mary Eybs of Thackerville; sister, Darlene Weaver of Alex; grandchildren, Jenny McDaniels and Bryan Kupper, Jesse McDaniels and wife Billie, Keith Townley, Kayla Dobbins, Noah McDaniels, James McDaniels, C.J. and Brandi Eybs, great granchildren, Brittany, Devin, Levi, Trevor, Kierstin, Josh and Gabe; special friends, Cheryl Lake and Rhonda Ritter; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as casket bearers will be Mark Harding, Tim Keef, Dennis Hamilton, Bill Russell, Kalub Miller, and Mike Bowan.
Honorary casket bearers will be sons and grandsons.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednsday, June 9, 2021 at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.
