Shirley Carol Carroll

September 4, 1935 — June 12, 2009

Ringling- Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Carol (Cargile) Carroll, 73, formerly of Ringling, OK is scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the Community Fellowship Assembly of God Church in Ringling with Rev. Rocky Keck officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.


Shirley was born in Ringling September 4, 1935 to the late Mr. Warren and Mrs. Jeffie (Carroll) Cargile. She departed this life Friday June 12, 2009 at Wichita, KS.

Shirley was raised in Ringling until they moved to Hobbs, NM. She graduated High School at Hobbs and later met Mr. Jimmy Carroll. They married on Dec. 9, 1953 and of this union came 4 children. Jimmy worked as an Oilfield Salesman, which required them to move frequently. Great Bend, KS has been her home the last couple of years where she loved being close to her children.

In her working years she was a devoted homemaker for her children, but really took pleasure in her job at a Battered Women’s Shelters helping others for 12 years. Her hobbies included crocheting, flower gardening, and reading. She most of all just enjoyed being with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her Parents, Mother, Jeffie Pate, and Father, Warren Cargile , 2 Infant sisters, and 1 infant great grandson, Bryan Stockdale.

Survivors include daughter, Susan Bunce, and fiancé Dan Creason of Osawatomie, KS, 3 Sons, Murray Carroll and wife Cari of Wichita, KS, Kelly Carroll of Wichita, KS and James Carroll of Abilene, KS currently working in Kuwait. Sisters, Benita Jo Stagner of Duncan, Pat Johnson of Waurika, and Gladys Sessums of Wilson. Brother, Charlie Cargile of Ringling. Grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jeff Brothers, Johnathon Stockdale, Sara and Michael Erwin, Karina and Rachel Gillette. Great Grandkids, Madison and Austin. Numerous nieces and nephews and other family.

Pallbearers will be family members. Honorary bearers will be Chad Snellen, Mack Stagner, Harold Miller, and Johnathon Stockdale.

Family visitation will be Tuesday from 7-9 pm at the Funeral Home in Ringling.
