Wilson – A celebration of life for Mrs. Sharon Kay (Taylor) Orr, 59, of Wilson is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. An inurnment service will be held at a later date at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.
Sharon was born November 9, 1951 at Ardmore to Mr. Dearl Thurman Taylor and Mrs. Doris Laverne (Glenn) Taylor. She departed this life Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at her home in Wilson.
Sharon was raised in Wilson attending and graduating from school there in 1971. She married Mr. Robert “Bob” Glenn Orr on June 11, 1971 at Wilson. They made their home in Ft. Worth, TX residing there most of their lives together. Sharon was a devoted homemaker to her husband and children and also took pride in providing Mary Kay cosmetics.
She always enjoyed cross stitching and loved watching Netflix movies and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her husband, Bob, preceded her in death on May 17, 2004.
Sharon had been a member of the Baptist Church most of her years. She was baptized at the Wilson First Baptist Church in 1966 and had most recently held an additional membership at the Harvest Baptist Church of Ft. Worth, TX.
In addition to her husband Bob, also preceding her in death is her Mother, Doris; and Daughter, Erica Nicole (Orr) Rowley.
Survivors include her Daughter, Angie L. Norkett and husband Joey of Wataga, TX; Stepdaughter, Meryal Buchleiter and husband Bryan of Roanoke, TX; Father and Second Mother, Dearl and Betty Taylor of Wilson; Sisters, Elaine Johnson and husband Keith of Farmington, Arkansas, Debbie Shores and husband Kenny of Pooleville, OK, Laurie Taylor and husband Roger of Wilson, and Connie Forsythe of Wilson; Brothers, Trent Taylor and wife Merry of Wilson, Ken Forsythe and wife Jane of Nashville, TN, and Ron Forsythe and wife Ann of Sanger, TX; Sister in law, Ethel Lizarraras of Yuma, AZ; Grandchildren, Jordan, Mary –Elizabeth, Liam, Corbin, Graydon, Samantha and Ella. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary Bearers are Kenny Shores, Trent Taylor, A.C. Overby, and Roy Sills.
In lieu of flowers memorials donations can be made to a charity of choice.
