Sharon Kay Elmore

Wilson- Funeral Services for Sharon Kay (Acox) Elmore, 66, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Hospice Chaplain Denise Balmer officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery in Ringling. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Sharon was born March 31, 1944 at Ringling, OK to the late Mr. Charles Buren Acox and Mrs. Lavada Lucille (Acox) Meadows. She departed this life Friday, December 31, 2010 at a nursing home facility in Ardmore.

Sharon was born and raised in Ringling where she attended school. She married Larry Elmore while he was serving in the military and Sharon found employment at the Air Force Base Exchange. She was employed for 26 years retiring in 1986 at the Denver Air Force Base. She returned to this area, living at Wilson and initially worked for Hacker and Sons Oilfield Service. She later was employed for Super C as Assistant Manager for 22 years and simultaneously was the manager for Arbuckle Ridge Apts. in Wilson. In 1983, she had her daughter Courtney, who was the “light of her life”. Sharon also enjoyed gardening, dancing, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was always a very unselfish woman, who would do anything for anyone and has touched the lives of so many. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilson.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Twin Sister, Karen Hobbie, Sister, Patsy Ann Tudor, Brothers, Larry and Tommy Neil Tudor.

Survivors include her Daughter, Courtney Blodgett and boyfriend Stacy of Ardmore. Sister, Bobbie Laughlin and husband John of Bay City, TX. Brothers, Butch Acox of Overbrook and Ronnie Tudor of Lawton. One Grannddog named Sambo and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Les Hacker, Terry Hacker, Randy Hacker, Tim Barnes, Tony Apala and Kenny Tudor.

Honorary Bearers will be Dee Harbeson, Jason Forsythe, Jay Norton and Jeff Stearns.

Family visitation will be held from 5- 7pm Monday, January 3, 2011 at Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
