Selma Lee Mcgaughy

Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Selma Lee McGaughy, 77, of Reck are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday October 25, 2012 at the Assembly of God Church of Wilson with Pastor Dustin Wright and Nephew Jim McGaughy officiating. Interment will follow at the Reck Cemetery south of Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Selma was born November 3, 1934 at Seminole, OK to the late Mr. Basil Franklin Lucas and Mrs. Hedy Velma (Fowler) Lucas. She departed this life Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Ardmore.

Selma graduated from Wilson High School in 1953. She married Mr. Ernest Edward McGaughy on February 14, 1954 at the First Baptist Church of Wilson. They lived in California for 20 years moving back to this area in February of 1977.

As a young lady, Selma worked at Pfeffers Drug Store in Wilson and later made component parts for computers in Silicon Valley, CA. Above all she loved being a homemaker and housewife and attending all of her children’s school activities. She was very involved in the Wilson Homemakers Club and the Wilson Historical Society and always loved to read. Selma was a past member of the Zaneis Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death are her Parents; Son, Lee Edward McGaughy June 26, 2009; Infant Son, Shawn and 1 Brother Harold “Buster” Lucas.

Survivors include Husband Ernest of the Home; Daughters, Heather Smith and husband Craig of Lone Grove; Amanda Harris and husband Eddie of Vale, OR and Linda Chaney and husband Melvin of Wilson; 3 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 1 Brother; Gerald Lucas and wife Lucille of Great Bend, KS; Sister in Law Judy Lucas of Wilson; Numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Lynn Burks, Greg Morgan, Jim McGaughy, C.G. Burks, Gary Lucas and Dylan Burks.

Honorary Bearers are Travis Phillips, Sonny Grissom, Gibb Mason, Wilson High School Class of 1953 and the Wilson Homemakers Club members.

Family visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wed. evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
