Sandra Gail Thorne

Wilson - Mrs. Sandra Gail Thorne, 75 of Wilson was born on March 13, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Mr. William Vernon Sammons and Thelma J. (Stine) Sammons. She went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at her home in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Wilson.

Sandra was raised in Oklahoma City in the Nicoma Park area most of her life. Sandra attended Choctaw High School graduating in 1963. She meet Mr. Kenneth Loyd Thorne through letters he wrote to her while in the Navy. He had a sail mate that had a yearbook and out of all the girls in that book he chose Sandra to write. She married her life long sweet heart on March 16, 1963 and were married 54 years before his passing on August 29, 2017. They were blessed with two children, Teresa and Kenneth. Sandra was an dental assistant for 25 years; an excellent one making her patients comfortable. Soon after, Sandra became a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, and making clothing for her grandchildren. Sandra loved being outdoors, camping with her husband while living in Colorado. She will be known for her ways of making people smile and she will be greatly missed.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Kenneth.

Sandra is survived by her daughter, Teresa Jones and husband Greg; son, Kenneth Thorne; brother, Mike Sammons and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Brittany Darland and husband Jacob, Kyle Jones and wife Carly, Ryan Jones and wife Megan, Jessy Thorne and wife Amber, Allyson Jones and Kaytie Jones; cousin who was like a sister, Vivian Morgan; 8 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
