Sam "Sammy" Henry Watkins

Mr. Sam "Sammy" Henry Watkins of Wilson, departed this life on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at his residence at the age of 69 years, 5 months, and 3 days. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the Drake-Nebo Cemetery in Murray County, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Sammy was born on December 12, 1950 in Ardmore to the late Mr. John Edgar Watkins and Mrs. Opal Lorene (Wyatt) Watkins.

Mr. Watkins had lived in Southern Oklahoma most of his life. He worked in construction building swimming pools for many years. He loved going to the casino, playing the guitar, and talking with friends and family. Sam loved his husky/wolf mix dog that was like a kid to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; twin sons, Sam Henry and Henry Sam; brother, Neil Watkins; and a sister Norma Day.

Sammy is survived by his daughters, Mary Watkins and spouse David Stuckey of Madill, Tammy Watkins of Ardmore, Jan Royal and husband Kevin of Lone Grove; brothers, Van, Johnny, Ben Watkins and a cousin that was like a brother Jesse James; sisters, Winnie Mullins, Sarah Digby, Carolyn Cravens, Roxann Mullins, Mary Alvaroda; grandchildren, Joe Watkins, Kelley Royal, Richard Glover, Racheal, Taylor and Frankie Royal, Johnny Glover, and Kevin Royal; great grandchildren, Elijah and Lakai Davis.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.
