Ruth Shirley Soldan

Wilson - Mrs. Ruth Shirley Soldan, 87 of Wilson departed from this life on Monday, April 10, 2023 at her home in Wilson.  Cremation Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.  

 Ruth was born February 19, 1936 in Pontiac, MI to the late Mr. Gordon Soldan and Mrs. Celista (Barber) Soldan. She was raised in Pontiac, MI attending and graduating from Lake Orion High School.  Ruth married Mr. George Vandawalker and to this union they were blessed with 4 children, Carol, Sue, Mary and Gary.  She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, and also enjoyed traveling. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; siblings, Raymond Soldan, Don Soldan, Jean Whitehead, Delores Campbell, and Beverly Dewey.

Ruth is survived by her children, Carol Vandawalker of New Mexico, Sue Earnest and husband Rick of Wilson, Gary Vandawalker and wife Carole of Bellville, MI and Mary Pipes of Wilson; sister, Joyce Johnston; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and by a host of other family and friends.
