Alma - Funeral Services for Mr. Roy Lee Oxford, 87, of Alma are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, June 5, 2020 the Ratliff City First Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Sims officiating and Rev. Glynn Baker assisting. Interment will follow at Alma Cemetery. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Mr. Oxford was born on March 30, 1933 at Alma to the late Mr. William "Bill" Calvin Oxford and Mrs. Dollie Marie (Smart) Oxford. He departed this life at his home on Tuesday morning June 2, 2020.
Mr. Oxford was raised in Alma graduating school from Velma in 1951. A couple of years after he was drafted into the United States Army, at the end of the Korean War. Inducted in 1953, he served honorably for two years, mostly stationed in Germany. After receiving his honorable discharge in 1955 he returned to this area and soon married the former Ms. Jessie Mae Fletcher. They were united in marriage on Feb. 16, 1957 at Duncan.

Together they made their home on a dairy farm in Alma. They owned and operated "Oxford Dairy" for 40 plus years. He and Jessie enjoyed working together and raising their children on the farm. Mr. Oxford always enjoyed attending church. He served as a deacon of the Countyline Baptist Church, Alma Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church of Hennepin. He was currently a member of the Hennepin Baptist Church. Mr. Oxford always loved serving the Lord with all of his heart. He always enjoyed cattle, farming and was an avid coin collector.

He is preceded in death by a young daughter, Carla Mae Oxford; his parents, Bill and Dollie Oxford and a brother, James Oxford.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Jessie Mae Oxford of the home; daughter, Carol Glenn and husband Richard of Velma; sons, Charles "Chuck" Oxford and wife Peggi of Velma and Bob Oxford of the home; grandson, Allen Glenn of Kingston; granddaughter, Brenda Thompson and husband Donald "Sparky" of Velma and Jerica Todd and husband Josh of Ardmore; sister, Pat Martin of Countyline; six great grandchildren, Kassidee, Paislee, Mabree, Tyler, Karson and James; numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Casket bearers will be Allen Glenn, Donald "Sparky" Thompson, Jeff Jones, Dan Fletcher, W.R. Howard and Larry Lee.

Honorary bearers will be Jack Sanner, Dan Lowrance and Josh Todd.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at Alexander Gray Funeral Home of Ratliff City.
