Roy Lee Haynes

Wilson- Funeral Services for Mr. Roy Lee Haynes, 84, Mechanic, Service Station Owner and Attendant of Graham is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 21, 2014 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Dan Stewart officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home and Crematory.

Roy was born December 21, 1929 at Seminole, Oklahoma to Mr. John Warren Haynes and Mrs. Lillie Okla (Horn) Haynes. He passed from this life March 18, 2014 at Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Roy was raised in Louisiana moving to Wilson in 1946. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1949. After graduating he joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 ~ 1954 serving on the USS Evans during the Korean Conflict. He married the former Billie Smith and together they were blessed with three children, Rickey, David, and Linda. They resided in Albuquerque, NM. until moving back to Wilson in 1970. Roy owned and operated the DX Station in Wilson for several years. Later he and the former Oleta Alexander were united in marriage May 19, 1993 at Gainesville, TX. They made their home in Graham and have resided there since. Roy enjoyed fishing, camping and working in the yard.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, John and Lillie Haynes; Sons, David Haynes who preceded him April 28, 2000 and Rickey Lynn Haynes who preceded him May 19, 2011; Sister, Johnnie Haynes.

Roy is survived by his wife, Oleta (Alexander) Haynes of the home; Daughters, Linda, Kim and husband Mark, Dana and husband Mike and Brenda and husband Bill; Son, Fred JR. and wife, Kay; Sister, Donna and husband Bill; Brothers J.W. ”Dub”, Richard and wife Beverly, Ray and wife Linda; Mother of their children, Billie Haynes; 17 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild; Numerous other Family and Friends.

Honorary Bearers are Siaosi Ma’afala, Mark Muller, Danny Stewart, Xavier Ma’afala, Jeff Miller and Mike Fitzgerald.
