Healdton - Home Going services for Mr. Roy Lee Clayton, 75 of Wilson are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the River of Life Church in Wilson with Rev. Raymond Norton officiating. Interment will follow to Hewitt Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton 65 Golf Course Rd.
Roy was born April 20, 1944 in Bowden, OK to the late Mr. Clarence Roy Clayton and Mrs. Velva Fern (Miller) Clayton. He departed from this life on Saturday, September 14, 2019 in Oklahoma City.
Roy was raised primarily at Bristow and the Depew area. He joined the Army National Guard at the age of 17 and served honorably for 13 1/2 years. Roy began working in the oilfield at a young age while residing in Bristow, moving to this area in 1980. He initially was employed for Sparks Logging and Perforating of Zaneis. Later, he worked for Carter County District II for 15 years and lastly the City of Lone Grove.
Roy married the former Ms. Leona Hill on November 29, 1991 at the Gospel Lighthouse Church. They made their home in the Lone Grove and Wilson area. He always loved hunting, fishing, and telling others about the love and forgiveness of Jesus. Roy was a faithful member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church.
Preceding him in death are his parents; sisters, Grace Clayton, Clara Sparks and Nadine Clayton; brother, Carl Clayton and a grandson, Jared Lakey.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Leona of the home; daughters, Cindy Lakey and husband Doug of Duncan and Sheila Scarberry and husband Fred of Yukon; sons, Stephen Clayton and wife Tiffani of Ardmore and Jeff Clayton and wife Levia of Healdton; brother, Glenn Clayton of Bakersfield, CA; 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and a niece and other family, church family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin Lakey, Joshua Lakey, Josh Kinard, Derek McCullar, Dakota Brumley and Paul Windom.
Honorary bearers will be Jeff Clayton, Stephen Clayton, Patrick Harris, Doug Lakey, Kevin Sparks, Roy Sparks, Rowdy Brumley, Mickey Davis, Roy Perry, Raymond Collins and the Men and Boys of the Gospel Lighthouse Church.
A gathering for family and friends is scheduled for Wednesday evening from 5-7 P.M. at Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Healdton 65 Golf Course Rd.
