Rosemary (Davis) Fincher

August 3, 1949 — February 13, 2025

Services for Rosemary (Davis) Fincher, 75, of Ringling, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Ringling, with Rev. Joe Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Ringling Memorial Cemetery.

Rosemary was born August 3, 1949, at Ardmore, to the late Mr. Finner Vanton Davis and Mrs. Violet Olive (Patterson) Davis. She departed this life Thursday, February 13, 2025, in Ardmore.

Raised in a small community, Rosemary's education began in Ryan, where she completed her studies through the 9th grade. She then went on to finish her high school years at Wilson High School, where she met her future husband, Bill Fincher. Their love blossomed, culminating in their marriage on August 25, 1967, at the First Baptist Church in Wilson. Together, they forged a path that would deeply intertwine their lives with education and athletics. As Bill pursued his teaching and coaching degree, Rosemary embraced her new role as a coach's wife. Their journey took them through various communities, starting in Tishomingo and moving to Ada, where they began their professional careers in education. They worked together as a team in several schools, including Crescent and Ringling, before spending a year in Dickson and two years in Rush Springs. Eventually, they returned to Ringling, where they would establish their home and legacy. From 1980 until her retirement in 2008, Rosemary, affectionately known as “Ms. Rosie” by her students, served as a teacher's aide. Her warm spirit and nurturing nature made her a beloved figure among the children, who often delighted in visiting her desk to savor the treats from her candy bowl. Rosemary's commitment to her role extended beyond academics, as she consistently attended games and events in support of her husband and the school community, lending a helping hand wherever needed, including in the cafeteria. In addition to her professional contributions, Rosemary was a devoted mother and grandmother. She poured her heart into cooking family meals each evening, creating a warm and welcoming home for her loved ones. Rosemary always prioritized her family, demonstrating unwavering support by helping her grandchildren get to various activities and occasionally treating them to snacks at Moore Drug Store after school. Rosemary (Davis) Fincher leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and commitment. Her influence will remain in the hearts of the many who had the privilege of knowing her, a gentle soul whose spirit touched countless lives.
