Wilson – Funeral Services for Mrs. Rosalyn Estella (Pride) Rangel, 69, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday January 9, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Wilson with Pastor Waylon Dancer officiating. Interment will follow at the Bomar ~ Point Cemetery of Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Rosalyn was born July 15, 1945 at Wilson to the late Mr. Joseph George Pride and Mrs. Margaret Emma (Monson) Pride. She departed this life Sunday January 4, 2015 at the Wilson Nursing Home.
Rosalyn was raised in Wilson attending school there. She graduated high school as valedictorian of her class and then attended college at the Chickasha Women’s College on a music scholarship. Rosalyn was an exceptional pianist. She married Mr. Eddie Rangel on Dec. 23, 1966 at Wilson. They made their home in Los Angeles, CA. To this union they were blessed with a daughter, Rosalva. Rosalyn and Rosalva moved to Wilson a few years later where Rosalyn remained a resident. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wilson.
Preceding her in death are her Parents; Brother, Joseph Theren “Little Joe” Pride and husband Eddie Rangel in 1999.
Survivors include a daughter Rosalva Dean and husband Bill of Grapevine, TX; 2 grandchildren, Brandon Dean and Brian Dean; and cousins Gale Clark of Moore and Kay Dickner of Peoria, AZ; numerous other family and a host of friends.
Casket Bearers are friends and family.
A special thank you to all the staff of the Wilson Nursing Home for their kind felt care and support.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home in Wilson.
