Ronnie Dale Harbour

December 1, 1941 — April 9, 2018

Ringling – Home Going services for Ronnie Dale Harbour, 76, of Ringling are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Ringling Church of Christ with Mark Eck and Joe Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow at the Harbour Family Cemetery in Ringling. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.

Ronnie was born on Dec. 1, 1941 at Ardmore to Howard William Harbour and Christene L. (Faulkner) Harbour. He departed this life on Monday morning April 9, 2018 at his home in Ringling.

Ronnie attended school at Fox until his freshman year, moving to Ringling where he graduated High School in 1960. He then attended Murray State College for a semester returning back to Ringling to marry his high school sweetheart, Peggy Sue Tipps. He and Sue were united in marriage on March 23, 1961 at Henrietta, TX. They were blessed with three beautiful children. They moved to Hurst, TX in 1965 where Ronnie was employed for Bell Helicopter. During that time he had an opportunity to take a helicopter ride with actor John Wayne. They moved back to Oklahoma in 1968, while Ronnie drove back and forth to Texas still working for Bell helicopter until 1969. He then became employed for Barco for a short while before becoming employed for ARCO Pipeline Company in 1970. There he remained until he retired in 1992 as a supervisor.

Ronnie and Sue hosted many Church gatherings throughout the years, enjoying 57 years of blissful marriage. Ronnie lived for Christ and his family. He loved spreading Gods word and baptized and married many. Ronnie also was an avid cattle rancher and cowboy. He will be remembered by all those whom he has helped over the years as a big man with a big heart and a kind gentle soul.

He was preceded in death by his son Rick D. Harbour; father Howard Harbour; brother, Jimmy Harbour; In laws, W.D. and Maxine Tipps; sister in law, Gayle Gore and Linda Tipps.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Sue (Tipps) Harbour of the home; mother, Christene Apala of Ardmore; daughters, Rhonda Norman of Ringling and Desiree Buck and husband Larry Don of Ringling; grandchildren, Tara Longest and husband Heath, Dakota Norman and wife Courtney, Logan Reid, Rikki Reid; Rhett Harbour; Josey Harbour and wife Ashley and Whitney Harbour; great grandchildren, MaCray Lynn, Brooke McClure, Cassidy Kinsey, Connor and Rylee Jo Longest and Rylee and Gage Norman; sisters, Tammy Bobst and husband Jeff of Ardmore, Anna Kay McGowan and husband Bill of Ringling and Patsy Yokum of Tecumseh; brother , Foy Harbour and wife Elaine of McCloud; brothers in law, Jerry Gore of Granbury, TX and Bill Tipps of Ringling.

Casket Bearers will be Dakota Norman, Josey Harbour, Rhett Harbour, MaCray Lynn, Matthew Tinsley and Ty Hammons.

Honorary Bearers will be Bill Tipps, Dewayne Wade, Barry Hickman, Charlie Lockwood, Bob Earl Stewart, Mike Tipps and Todd Graves.

Family visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling.
