Ronald Steven Shores

Wilson- Graveside service for Ronald “Steve” Steven Shores, 65, of Kingston, will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 28, 2022 at Simon Cemetery with Elder Art Barker officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Wilson.

Steve was born June 30, 1957 in Ardmore, OK to Mr. Ronald Shores and Mrs. Barbara (McClendon) Shores. He departed from this life October 24, 2022 at his home on Buncombe Creek in Kingston, OK at the age of 65 years, 3 months, and 24 days.

Steve was raised in the Wilson area attending school at Plainview and graduated from Wilson High School class of 1975. He married the former Ms. Desiree Jean Hull on December 10, 1977 in Aledo, TX and to this union they were blessed with two daughters, Sarah and Rachel. Steve went on to further his education in Aviation School at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The couple resided in McAllister, OK where he was employed by Armstrong Tools. Steve later made his home in Wilson and became the Wilson Police Chief. He was also employed as a Park Ranger for Lake Murray and lastly as an Oilfield Directional Driller. He raised Black Angus cattle and loved to plant a garden that always included fruit trees. Steve loved to cook and to fish. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Wilson.

Preceding him in death are his father, Ronald Shores and his brother-in-law, Danny Hull.

Survivors include his daughters, Sarah Gunter and husband Joseph of Wilson and Rachel Thompson and husband Tell of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; mother, Barbara Brown of Ardmore; mother of his children, Desiree Hull of Wilson; siblings, Mike Shores and wife Becky of Springer, Mark Shores and wife Stacy of Wilson, and Kellie Hull and husband David of Ardmore; sisters- in-law, Debbie Henderson and husband Lynn of Wilson and Ann Hull of Ardmore; grandkids, Madelynn Gunter, Olivia Gunter, and Silas Gunter; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Gunter, Tell Thompson, Daniel Hull, Coty Shores, Chase Shores, Waylon Shores, Zane Shores, and Silas Gunter.

Honorary Bearers are Mike Shores, Mark Shores, David Hull and Lynn Henderson.
