Ronald “Ronny” James Clayburn
Wilson – Funeral services for Mr. Ronald “Ronny” James Clayburn, age 56, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
Ronny was born August 1, 1961 in Wilson, OK to Jerry Don Clayburn and Gwendolyn M. “Gwen” Latham Clayburn. He departed this life Tuesday, October 2, 2017 at his residence in Ardmore.
Mr. Clayburn attended grade school in Davis and then went to Jr. high and high school in Wilson and Lone Grove. Ronny had worked in the oil field most of his life beginning with Forsythe Oilfield Services, David Hull, Gilby Production, Thomas, Forest, and Bronco drilling. He last worked for C and J as a truck driver. His laughter and smile were contagious. He was always willing to help and would give you the shirt off his back. In his later years he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. In his younger days he enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing Chess. Ronny could also be found eating and watching John Wayne westerns and antique road show.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Clayburn on June 12, 2016.
Survivors include his close friend, Dawn Clayburn of Lone Grove; sons, Jake Clayburn of Wilson, D.J. Clayburn of Ardmore; daughters, Jamie Clayburn and spouse Cory Martin of Wilson and Haven Clayburn of Lone Grove; mother of his two oldest children, Shelia Clayburn of Wilson; father, Jerry Clayburn and wife Cathy of Lindsay; brothers, Donny Clayburn and wife Marcha of Wilson, and Billy Clayburn of Davis; grandchildren, Jordann, Jadynn, and Jax; Nieces, Anna Snooks, Amanda Clayburn, Bethany Clayburn, Corie Don Clayburn, Casey Lee Jacobs, and nephews, Bill Clayburn Jr and Jason Blain; Aunt, Joyce Sipe of Madill; many other cousins, relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers are be Jake Clayburn, James Aubrey Hill, Cory Martin, Billy Clayburn, Chance Digby, and Bobby Williams.
Honorary Bearers are Donny Clayburn, Robert Moyers, Jerry Clayburn, J. Brad Johnson, and Shelia Clayburn Bill Clayburn, Jr.
Family visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Thursday evening at Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.
