Ronald Gene Wadkins

Countyline – Funeral Services for Mr. Ronald “Ronnie “ Gene Wadkins, 78, of Countyline are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Countyline Baptist Church with Rev. Sid Bazzrea officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Ratliff City.

Ronnie was born on Dec. 2, 1938 at Countyline to the late Mr. William “Bill” Edward Wadkins and Mrs. Jewell (Marney) Wadkins. He departed this life Friday, August 11, 2017 at his home in Countyline.

Ronnie was raised at Countyline attending school at Velma, graduating high school in 1957. He began a lifelong career in the Oil Patch at the age 17 as a roustabout. He worked in every aspect of the Oil industry all of his years.

Ronnie was united in marriage to the former Ms. Oretha Cole in March of 1966 at Carlsbad, NM. They shared 51 years of marriage together, renewing their vows last Christmas. They have been residents of Countyline most all of their years together. Ronnie enjoyed staying busy always working. He never missed a day a work unless it was a family member’s funeral, birth or wedding. Ronnie had his own oilfield servicing company for many years called Wadkins Oil Well Servicing. When he wasn’t on an oilfield job he enjoyed brush hogging at his farm and occasionally liked to go deer hunting.

Preceding him in death are his Parents; brothers, Jr., Edward and Tommy Wadkins; sisters, Josephine Young and Mae Jackson; grandson, Ronnie Young and 3 great grandsons.

Survivors include his loving wife Oretha of the home; children, Deleta Young of Countyline, Delesa Elkins and husband B.F. of Kingston, Lucas Perkins and wife Ronda of Healdton and Leslie Perkins of Helena; sisters, Karron Corbell and husband Lester of Roswell, NM and Clara Belle Downey of Pernell; 10 grandchildren, Shawnda, Marla, Chrissy, Roy, Paul, Raelynn, Angela, Ashley, Carla and Joe Bill; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.

Casket Bearers are Eddie Jackson, Rocco Robertson, Jeremy Golden, Felipe, Munoz, Joe Bill Dunigan and Billy Rucker.

Honorary Bearers are Gary Vinson, Caleb Moore, Kenneth Clem, Doyle Hammersly, Ricky Tidwell and Kenneth Spigner.

Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Ratliff City.
