Roger Gene Mcfarland

Wilson – No services are scheduled for Mr. Roger Gene McFarland, 65, of Wilson, who died on Friday April 1, 2011 at Ardmore, OK. He was born June 5, 1945 at Los Angeles, CA to the late Carl McFarland and Dolores Arlene (Staton) McFarland.

Roger was raised in California residing mostly around Riverside, CA. He attended college for 3 years and was a veteran of the United States Army, joining the military December 12, 1962 at Los Angeles, CA. He served honorably as a Military Policeman and held his parachute certification for 3 years and was discharged December 13, 1965 at Ft. Bragg, NC. He was employed a great deal of his working years in Alaska, working on the Alaskan pipeline and was also an Over the Road truck driver for many years. Roger was always very adventurous, loving the outdoors, camping and panning for gold. He also was very well trained in Martial Arts, obtaining his black belt in Tai Kai Do and was of the Christian Faith.

Preceding him in death are his Parents.

Survivors include his Daughters Traci Adkins of Pryor, OK, Sherri Denn of Florida, and Kimberly Bennett and husband Eric of Wilson. 2 Step grandchildren, Ronald Warren of Ponca City, and Donna Vest of Healdton. Brothers, Greg McFarland and Pat McFarland. 11 grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
