Rodger Lynn Hayes

March 9, 1956 — January 10, 2025

Rodger Lynn Hayes, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 10, 2025, in Healdton, Oklahoma, at the age of 68. Born on March 9, 1956, in Ukiah, California, Rodger was the son of the late Mrs. Janice Skelton.

Raised in Oregon by his grandparents, Rodger's early life was steeped in the values of hard work and family, with his relatives deeply involved in the logging industry. The natural beauty of Oregon fostered Rodger's love for the outdoors, where he cherished moments spent hunting, fishing, and even scuba diving. Rodger's dedication to his personal and professional growth led him to further his education, attaining certifications in Welding and Plumbing. This hard-earned knowledge and skill set would serve him well as he transitioned into the workforce. Relocating to Healdton to be closer to his mother, Rodger began an extensive career in the oilfields around the Velma area. He later became well-regarded as a plumber for Allied Services, where his reputation for competence and professionalism flourished. On August 8, 2013, Rodger married the former Ms. Luwana Cooper in Purcell. Their union was a testament to love and companionship, and they made their home in Healdton. Rodger was known for his approachable demeanor, never meeting a stranger, and possessing the rare ability to see the good in everyone. His gentle spirit shone brightly, especially in his role as Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, where he embraced the joys of family life.

Rodger is preceded in death by his mother, Janice, and his brother, Allen Hayes. He is survived by his loving wife, Luwana Hayes; his siblings, Rocky, Vicki, Patty, Brian, and Shelly; step-children, Waylon Jennings, Luke Jennings, Mindy Jennings, Ashley Jackson, Zachary Jackson, and Courtney Brown; along with many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of friends and extended family who will carry on his memory.

Rodger's legacy of kindness, humor, and strong family values will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Services have been arranged under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Crematory in Ringling. Condolences and shared memories can be expressed online at www.alexandergrayfh.com.
