Robert Wayne Martin

Graveside services for Mr. Robert Wayne Martin, 76 are scheduled for 11 AM, Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Belleville Bourland Cemetery in Courtney with Carolyn Higdon officiating. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Mr. Robert Wayne Martin was born October 25, 1939 in Poplar, Montana. He departed from this life on April 8, 2016 in Ardmore, OK. Robert was raised by his grandmother and assorted families residing mainly in Montana. He attended grade and trade school at Flandreau in South Dakota, later graduating high school from Wolfe Point, MT. He then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah receiving a bachelor’s degree in Engineering before entering into the U.S. Navy. He served honorably for 4 years on the USS Iwo Jima. He worked for a technical company in San Francisco Bay area when he met the former Malacha Fox. They were united in marriage August 22, 1970 at Santa Clara, CA. They made their home in Milpitas, CA raising their three sons. Robert went back to school in 1992 and earned his master’s degree at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. Then he worked for various tribes as an administrator retiring in 2007. Malacha preceded him in death July 31, 2009. He then returned to work not fully retiring until last year.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. Bill UYoupee and Mrs. Ruby Archdale.

Survivors include his sons Russell Martin and his wife Malia of Milpitas, CA, Daniel Martin and his wife Eliana of Silva, NC and James Martin and his wife Angel of Courtney, daughter Wendy Kaess and her husband Mike of Bakersfield, CA, grandchildren Morgan, Andi, Riley Wayne, Joseph Russell, Ishta Malacha and Raphael Wayne.

Honorary bearers will be Riley Wayne Martin, Joseph Russell Martin, Raphael Wayne Martin, Tyrell Stages, Clay Foutch, Andrew Fox, Joel Fox and “Little Andrew Fox”.
