Ringling – Funeral Services for Mr. Robert “Bob” Fay Paul, 76, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 16, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Ringling with Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow to Loco Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ringling.
Bob was born October 19, 1940 to the late Mr. Fay Walter Paul and Mrs. Mildred Louise (Thomas) Paul. He departed from this life doing what he loves the most, working with cattle, on January 11, 2017 in Ardmore.
Bob was raised at Pearsall, TX until moving 5 miles north of Healdton in 1949. He attended school at Fox graduating from Fox High School, class of 1959. Bob was an extraordinary football player, playing tackle and was named all district under the leadership of legendary football coach, Harry Cheadle. He made a great impression on Coach Cheadle, who was later inducted into the Oklahoma Football Hall of Fame. He attended college at East Central University in Ada. He married the former Ms. Glenda Jane Jennings and to this union came two children, Jim and Martha. She tragically preceded him in death in 1967.
Bob later married the former Ms. Linda Weeaks on September 13, 1968 at Gainesville, TX. To this union they were blessed with Henry, Sandra, Scott and Patrick. Bob worked as a truck driver and in the oilfield most all of his years. He was always a cowboy and felt most at home in the cow lot or sale barn. It’s been said he has hauled over a million head of cattle and was known for doing the right thing. Bob never met a stranger and always could connect well with relatives or anyone he met along the way. He was always honest, enjoyed good company, and hated goodbyes. Bob was baptized as a young man at the First Christian Church of Healdton and was led by being a good Christian.
In addition to his wife Glenda, Bob is also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Walter Paul and Fred Thomas Paul; sons, James Walter “Jim” Paul and infant son Scott Lesley Paul; sister in law, Sherry Lynn Wade; nephews, Cainan and Brian Paul.
He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; children, Martha Louise Hayes and husband Doug of Washington, Robert Henry Paul and wife Shelley of Lone Grove, Sandra Lynn Paul and Patrick Dowe Paul both of Wilson; siblings, Mack Henry Paul and Mildred Louise Tuley and husband Roger, both of Wynnewood; sister in law, Mary Paul of Healdton; uncle, Fred Paul and his wife Mary of Ardmore; grandchildren, Luke, Seth, Abigail, Blake Henry, Jeremy, Nolan James, Lane, Ronnie Gene Aycox, Dakota Lynn and Josey LaRae; great grandchildren, Langston, Layla, Lakota, Cambrie, Troy, Giselle, Gilbert, Karleigh, Dessa and Bryson and numerous other family and friends.
Casket bearers will be Justin Paul, Joshua Paul, Lane Paul, Paul Tuley, Lewis Tuley, Luke Hayes, Seth Hayes, James Paul and Dakota Paul.
Honorary bearers will be Jeremy Paul, Ronnie Austin, Kenneth Maddon, Jim Deberry, Clint Sicking, Rodney Dennis, Mack Thomas Paul, Raymond Brown, Doug Hayes, Gary Whitener, Jay Ready and Ronnie Gene Aycox.
