Robert Edward Martin

Ringling- Funeral services for Robert “Rob” Edward Martin, 68, of Lebanon, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 7, 2022, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Dixie Cemetery in Stephens County. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Funeral Home in Ringling.

Rob was born December 1, 1953, at Lewisville, TX to Mr. John Robinson Martin and Mrs. Alecia Rae (Beasley) Martin. He departed this life Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at his home in Lebanon.

Rob was raised in Lewisville, TX where he attended school. He worked with his dad, who decided he should work in Las Vegas.  He worked as a valet and moved his way up to dealing cards in the casino.  Eventually, he moved back home, where he worked in the family business, and eventually worked for BFI, continuing work in the waste management services for several years.  Rob later moved to Gainesville, TX where he was employed by an architectural firm, where he discovered his love of carpentry.  Throughout his career, as a master carpenter, he assisted in building beautiful custom interior home finishes, in the Dallas, TX areas and Oklahoma City areas.  Rob faced many challenges in his life overcoming them when finding the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ.  Rob loved helping others when he could.  He enjoyed cooking delicious food for his family and friends.  He was always there for his best friend and wife, Margaret.  He was a great dad, papaw, brother, friend, and a "get' er done" kind of groovy dude!  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edmond. 

He is preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Anthony Ray and Kirk Martin, and two granddaughters.

Rob is survived by his wife Margaret of the home; children, Brian Martin and wife Rachel, James Martin, Dawna Dickson and husband Don, Kelley Wimmer and husband Stanley, Sara Barnes and husband Billy Bob, Wesley Warrington and wife Julie, Amy Hendrix and Terrance Bagby; brother, John Martin, Jr. and wife Lois; sister, Moni Scott and husband James; 22 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be the grandsons.

Honorary bearers are John Ford, Mississippi Mike, and Hollis Morris.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Baptist Childrens Home.
