Velma - Graveside Services are scheduled for Mr. Richard Paul Griffee, Sr., 62 of Velma, for 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the New Velma Cemetery under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Ratliff City with his son Steven Griffee providing a Eulogy.
Richard was born July 28, 1946 in Oklahoma City, to Mr. Thomas Melvin and Mrs. Tenna Marie (Holliday) Griffee. He departed this life Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Lawton, OK.
Richard was raised mostly in Oklahoma City, graduating from high school there. Upon graduation he attended vocational school studying to become a butcher. He used this trade, making him a living for many years, lastly owning and operating D&R cold storage in Branford, Fl. He also owned and operated a recycling business in Oklahoma City from 1988 to 1991. He moved to Velma when he retired in 1998 and enjoyed retirement by fishing, carving and camping.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Mr. Thomas Melvin Griffee in 1964 and his grandparents.
Survivors include his Mother, Mrs. Tenna Todd of Velma, 2 Sons, Richard Paul Griffee, Jr. and wife Marci of Lyons, GA, and Steven Griffee and wife Kim of Hinesville, GA. 3 Daughters, Michelle Griffee of Claxton, GA, Tina Chabot of Daisy, GA, and Stacey Collins of Miami, FL. 14 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.
