Richard “Dicky” James Adams
Wilson-Memorial Services for Mr. Dicky Adams 80, of Wilson are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, February 20, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel of Wilson with Rev. Raymond Norton officiating. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home and Crematory.
Dicky was born October 10, 1934 in Wilson, to the late Mr. Louie Vassil Adams and Mrs. Susan Alice (Griffin) Adams. He passed from this life Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his home in Wilson.
Dicky was raised in Wilson, attending school here graduating in 1953. He married the former Ms. Mary Elizabeth Riley on October 6, 1958 in Gainesville, Texas. They resided in Oklahoma City before moving to Wichita Falls, Texas then came back to Wilson in 1965 making it their permanent home. Dicky worked as a grocery man for several years then was later employed by Mercy Hospital as a Pharmacist Technician. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wilson and was very gifted in art and music, having the ability to play most instruments and he loved to make beef jerky.
Dicky was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Susan Adams; sister, Tommy Lou Idleman; two brothers, Billy Adams and Bobby Adams; Daughter, Cindy Lou Adams; and granddaughter, Brandi Norton.
He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; son, Ricky Adams of Seminole; two Daughters, Shelly Brown of Wilson and Mary Jane Stinet of Ardmore; two brothers Jack Adams of Moore and Lynn Adam and wife Mary of Nocona, TX.; two sisters, Norma Rutledge and husband Rex of Wilson and Judy Glasco of Moore; Sister in law, Joy Adams of Healdton; 8 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; nermorous other family and friends.
