Richard Earl Lawson

Springer – Funeral Services for Mr. Richard Earl Lawson, 74, of Springer are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Landmark Baptist Church of Ardmore with Spence McConnell officiating. Interment will follow at the Oil Springs Cemetery in Oil City. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson.

Richard was born April 5, 1938 at Brooklyn, NY to the late Mr. Arnold Lawson and Mrs. Addie (Weaver) Lawson. He departed this life Friday, June 1, 2012 at Ardmore.

Richard was raised in Tomball, TX residing their most of his adolescent life. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force joining in 1956 and serving honorably until 1960 as Airmen 2nd Class. He was the Maintenance Manager for Valimet, INC of California, making Rocket Fuel for 15 years.

He and the former Pearlene Cearley were united in marriage on October 9, 1994 at Reno, NV. They moved to this area in 2003 from Stockton, CA and have been residents of Springer since.

Preceding him in death is his Parents and a Brother, Raymond Lawson.

Survivors include his wife Pearl Lawson of the home; Granddaughter, Kimberly Fagundes and husband Will of Davis; Daughter, Darlene Brewer and husband John of Modesto, CA; Son, Doug Lawson also of Modesto, CA; 2 Great Grandchildren, Lauren Nicole and Aiden William; Special Sister in law, Joyce Pletcher and her husband Don of Springer; Stepchildren, Robert Libel, Linda Young and Elaine Tankersley.

Pallbearers are Terry Busby, Justin Lee, Cody Lee, Don Pletcher, Robert Libel, and Buck Chatham.

Honorary Bearers are Will Fagundes, Brad Plecther, Doug Lawson, and John Brewer.
